The Lightning Thief

As Percy spends time in Half Blood Camp he is told that his mother has died.  She was killed by an underworld monster.  At camp they prepare a battle.  Who ever takes the opposite team’s flag wins.  Percy was left to guard the team’s flag.  When the opposite team comes to take the flag they have a battle. Percy was hurt bad since he was new to the camp.  He fell into a river and suddenly fell energized again.  At that moment the whole camp knew he was the son of Poseidon.  He could now say he was the son of Poseidon.

At first I didn’t understand this part because how can someone get energized by touching water.  As I continue reading I found out that he was the son of Poseidon who is the god of the sea so that explains why he gets energy from water.

The Lightning Thief

The Lightning Thief is a book about Percy Jackson who is son of the Greek god Poseidon.  Percy is sent to boarding schools because his mother fears that monsters from the underworld might want to kill him.  When Percy was a kid he was diagnose with Dyslexia and ADHD.  We later find out that this is caused by his super powers that he inherits from Poseidon.  When Percy was  at Yency Academy a boarding school, he was chased by a monster.  He goes home and is later taken to Half Blood Hill Camp.  This camp is for sons and daughters of Gods.  Percy doesn’t know that he is son of the Greek god Poseidon.
